Preserving the breast's natural support
In breast augmentation, preservation refers to protecting the breast's natural supporting structures, including the ligaments that help support and shape the breast. Rather than cutting through those structures to create space for an implant, a tissue-preserving approach aims to gently stretch and accommodate them as the pocket is developed.
The goal is to respect the existing anatomy while creating room for an implant. The exact approach depends on the patient's tissue, anatomy and implant plan; no technique can guarantee a particular result.
The Motiva Preserve technique
Motiva calls its proprietary tissue-preserving breast augmentation approach the Preserve technique. It is designed to minimize disruption of natural breast tissues and ligaments while creating space for an implant.
The specific Motiva Preserve system is not currently available for use in Canada. We do not use equipment or offer a branded technique that is not authorized here.
A similar tissue-preserving approach in Canada
Dr. Jaberi can use a minimally invasive approach with instruments and equipment authorized for use in Canada, with the same general aim of preserving natural supporting tissues and gently accommodating them rather than unnecessarily dividing them.
This is not the Motiva Preserve system, and the technique or outcome cannot be represented as identical. Whether this approach is suitable depends on your anatomy, implant choice and surgical plan. The potential benefits, limitations and risks are discussed at consultation.
A thoughtful choice, not a promise
Preserving tissue does not remove the usual risks of breast augmentation. Healing, implant position, sensation, scarring and long-term changes vary from person to person, and additional surgery may be needed. Your plan should be based on your anatomy and goals, not on a technique name alone.
